A. James Sarkisian
A. James Sarkisian graduated from Valparaiso University in 1980. He attended law school at Depaul University and Valparaiso University from 1980-1983, representing Valparaiso University at numerous renowned mock trial competitions throughout the country, as its team captain. Shortly after graduation, Jim embarked on his litigation-oriented career and became a Deputy Prosecutor representing the State of Indiana in Lake County, and went on to also represent the State of Indiana on behalf of Porter County, protecting its citizens by prosecuting criminal offenders. During that time he learned that people who have suffered from traumatic experiences need help and a steady hand to guide them through difficult situations.
In 1986, Jim began representing families of loved ones killed or catastrophically injured by the negligence of others. Since then, Jim has represented hundreds of personal injury victims. He has participated in many personal injury claims that have required arbitration, mediation or trial. Jim's philosophy is to get involved before a lawsuit is filed and personally interact with the clients and their families to prepare a settlement demand. Settlement demands are personally composed by Jim and his staff of legal assistants. Jim believes that thorough preparation reveals to Defendants and their representatives a strong message that his clients must be treated fairly and quickly. Jim has learned that litigation requires thorough preparation and aggressive representation. Jim believes hard work, perseverance and integrity are necessary when representing his clients. He is committed to making sure his clients are not taken advantage of by insurance carriers who try to force a quick settlement for less than fair compensation.
Jim is a proud supporter and believes in giving back to the community. Whether serving as the Valparaiso Community School Board President, youth sports coach, or serving on a county task force. Jim is an active participant in trying to help make Porter County a better place to live and work. Jim enjoys working-out, supporting various youth groups, and spending time with his family.
"Your case is important to me, but your trust and confidence are priceless. This office prides itself on preserving and protecting our clients' rights to the fullest extent allowed by law".
